Basking in the afterglow of the annual Africulture Festival (the biggest and best fest in Australia) in Auburn on March 16 Frieda’s Boss became massive fans of the colour, vibrancy and energy of a day full to overflowing with singing, dancing and sunshine. Check (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Friedas-Boss/173887551672?ref=ts&fref=ts#!/pages/Friedas-Boss/173887551672?id=173887551672&sk=photos_stream) for a brief pictorial.

The FB crew served up a heady mix of Bob Marley anthems and old favourites from General degree as well as pre loved originals from the “…and you are?” release and some new ones too.  Held against their will at the conclusion of their set, Frieda’s Boss were asked for an encore.  The crowd erupted as Train and Vstylee’s dulcet harmonic meanderings morphed into a tribute to Damien Marley in the form of a hard as nails version of “Welcome to Jamrock”.

Great day, great crowd and if you love the festiveness, colour, vibe and rhythms of Africa, this is a day for you so circle it on next year’s calendar. Keep an eye on www.africultures.com.au/

…and in other news, Frieda’s Boss will embark upon their very own “Heart of Darkness” voyage into the heart of the Blue Mountains and beyond to feature in the “Psyfari” festival on August 23-25 in Lithgow.  Our intrepid travellers will stop for appearances in Katoomba and perhaps Blackheath.
